Northwest Regional Comprehensive Center

As one of 15 Comprehensive Centers in the nation, NWCC provides services to our Northwest region, comprising Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. Although our mission is to help build the capacity of state education agencies (SEAs), our work looks different in each state because it is driven by local needs and context. Throughout the years we have developed strong collaborative relationships with our five states—bringing leading-edge research, innovative approaches, and high-quality technical assistance that supports and complements the important work of the SEAs.

In addition to working with the individual states, NWCC will also collaborate with state and local education agency leaders on two major regional projects:

• Helping SEAs develop the capacity to implement and monitor large-scale initiatives
• Establishing a Northwest rural school improvement network to identify and implement approaches to improving student outcomes in rural schools with a variety of special populations
